Cold Ones Will Be Served, Cool Kids Are Back, and a Little Full Frontal

Beer Up Bro Down is right around the corner. The event is put on by our buddy Luke Hunt and is truly a skater's holiday.  If you are in the Twin Cities area and of drinking age (there will be beer) and are not in attendance, you're blowing it. The Todd Bratrud x The Hundreds collaboration we reported on last week now has a lookbook. Set at a small town skatepark in North Dakota, it's a refreshing take on the tired concept of showing off clothes. 

Minnesota boys CJ Tambornino and Dane Vaughn shredded a Philly ledge with a bunch of other heavy hitters. Heavy maneuvers were performed. 

Other Minnesota boys Jack Olson and Corey Millett skated the Budwiser Made In America Fest in this clip. I wonder how many times the slurred words "DO A 900!" were yelled at them? 

Mitch Guth is on fire right now. He dropped this Fargo clip last week, and another clip titled Hold On  two days ago. Does Hold On contain Mitch's throwaway footage from a yet-to-be-announced 3rd Lair video? In any event, I'm stoked to see people skating the Towle Center Rails again.

The cool kids are back already. And they are not kids. And they're just are being themselves, dude. JOYRIDE, 2014.

You have seen it by now, but JOYRIDE is worth another watch. The Cherry kids are growing up so fast. Here is a list of reasons on why it is awesome:

• It's got tit in it.
• Sean Pablo skates really delicately and does a classic kickflip. He also does a no comply frontside heelflip, marking the first time I've seen that trick without a big spin added. 
• I thought I was sick of seeing beanplants, but Sage came through with this beanplant to frontside smith. Look at the dip on that!
• Ben Kadow's smith grind on a rail at the Chinatown bump is upon closer inspection the grinding of both rails. It's difficult to guess where that kid's influences come from as he's got such a unique style. Perhaps he was exposed to 7 Seconds at a young age? Whatever it is, you don't see too many people skating like him and I like it. 
• Bryan Herman is in it. 
• Tyshawn Jones cheats death and literally became a man in the time between Cherry and JOYRIDE. My jaw actually dropped when I saw him nearly losing his balance landing a kickflip frontside boardslide and making it look as good as he did. His Adidas-centric wardrobe leads me to believe he'll be given a spot on Team 3 Stripes sooner than later.

The party never stops for Cory Kennedy, even when he's got a job to do. Good thing his job involves boosting kickflip frontside wallrides higher than you can ollie. Thrasher Magnified, 2014. 

Cory Kennedy has the skill to win any contest he enters and film video parts that would throw him in the SOTY conversation. Yet instead of joining Street League / Dew Tour / Gravity Games  he's opted for the life of a fun boy, crushing cold ones and shutting down mini ramp sessions while wearing Birkenstocks (See Part 2 of Relapse of Luxury for evidence). Which is also super pimp.

We think of Cory as a kindred spirit to Eric Koston, the kind of skater who is so good that they don't take skating too seriously. Fourstar's recent day in the life video and these Relapse of Luxury videos (Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4) are a testament to the goofball level of skill Cory possesses. He even steals the show on a trip with a pack of tranny dogs in their natural habitat.
