Adam Abada's Selfie Part
Spots plague me. If I see something that looks skateable, especially if I don't have my board, I don't forget about it. It nags me. Mocks me. The more frequently I pass the same spot unskated, the more I think about it.
The problem is, I'm not really talking about "spots," not in the classic sense. These are not things I can suggest in the "Where should we skate!?!?" group text. I'm talking about dumb pieces of infrastructure that are only suitable for some trick I happen to know and are usually in my neighborhood.
That was the genesis for this part. I'm working on a full video and found there was a lot of stuff I wanted to skate that didn't fit with it. Since I couldn't rightly convince people to come skate these things with me, I made a little project for myself with whatever free time was handy. Now, getting a small clip in a neighborhood cruise felt like a big accomplishment. I even ended up meeting another skater and a Good Samaritan airdropped me their angle of a clip. I had initially planned on hitting up a good handful more things, but have been sidelined with a cracked rib and then a wonky knee and that headed straight into COVID-19 lockdown. So, as we all slow it down a bit, I figured we're gonna be seeing a bunch of selfie video anyway. I'm no vlogger, but I was sitting on this weird random footage of myself and thought better now than later. Maybe it will inspire folk to make something of their own with their tools and time.
Guest appearances from Danny Bezinovich, Graham Wallace, Shawn Nelson, and Daniel DeBarros with a mini section from his San Francisco neighborhood spot. Lucky guy. Look for them in my full video as well. :)
Enjoy!
