Making Stuff with... Carpet Company

“There are too many board brands” is a tired talking point in 2019. At the same time, let's be real…there are so many board brands right now. The preponderance of small board brands that have emerged in the past 5-10 years is astonishing, and few are doing all that much that’s different from their competitors.

Amidst this sea of board companies, Carpet Company is a brand that stands out to us. Based in Baltimore, MD and centered around boards that are hand printed by two brothers, Carpet’s is not your typical skateboard brand story. They don't have a team, they don't plan on moving the brand from Baltimore, and each and every board they sell is the product of a process that’s definitively unlike those used by other skateboard companies, regardless of size.

We took a trip down to Baltimore to hang out with Carpet’s founders Ayman and Osama as they prepared for their next release to figure out what it is about them that has been catching our eyes for a few years now.
